2.Read the text and analyze it. Brave mother
Brave Mother
I’m going to say a few words about the story. It’s a sad story.
The title of the story is “Brave Mother “.
The story was written by wall-known American writer of the 19th century Harriet Beecher-Stowe. She was born in the state of Connecticut in the family of poor clergyman. She began to teach in a school for girls when she was 13. Harriet wrote articles for newspapers about the exploitation of slaves. She died in 1899.
The theme of the story is slavery. Race discrimination
The idea of the story is mother’s love.
The scene is laid in the South America.
The story falls into 3 logically completed parts, which can be entitled in the following way:
1. Deal between Haley & Mr. Shelby
2. Eliza’s escape
3. Saving of the con
In the 1st part of the story we know about Mr. Shelby who borrowed large sums from Haley. Here author tells that Haley wanted instead of money because Mr. Shelby had enough money to pay him.
In the second part describes how Eliza heard their conversation and decided to run away to Canada. She didn’t want to take her son to the trader.
The climax of the story is laid in 3rd part, when Eliza decided to cross the dangerous river without any boat. In conclusion Eliza saved her son.
The story leaves a sense of that every mother will do everything for saving of lives of her child.
To my mind it’s teaching story. Because reading this story everyone understands that we must obey our parents and put an end to slavery all over the world.
3. Speak on topic « Relationship»
For me personally, relationships are like a minefield. You must navigate it carefully, or you may be blown to pieces before you understand the other person. It is usually assumed that if you have a bad relationship with your parents or relatives, then you do not want to understand something, to be aware of it. That if you have a bad relationship with relatives, then you are an ungrateful, closed person who rejects close people.
I agree with the importance of a good relationship between adult children and adult parents. In my opinion, the foundation of a strong family tree is good relationships. Given that a good relationship can be built by each person individually, and not "for two", it is important that each person has an attitude towards their relatives. For a good relationship, it is not necessary to go to visit and communicate on the phone, etc.You can also carry bags to your grandmother and yell at her every day - and it won't be a good relationship with a relative. I think that in order to maintain a good relationship between relatives, you need to keep a distance if you are not very comfortable with this "close" person. Then say what suits you and what does not suit you, even if he is the eldest. This will not ruin your relationship, but on the contrary will make the relationship "healthy".
