Peter:
What does the term «market» mean today?
Olga:
It is simply a set of conditions where sellers and buyers
can meet together.
Peter:
And what did the term
«market» mean in former
days?
Olga:
It was a
market place where people gather to sell or buy
goods on special market days.
Peter:
Well, what influences the prices?

You see, in a free market, competition takes place. Also
current supply and demand influence the prices. That is why they
are not fixed.
Peter:
And in what way may people
communicate?
Olga:
Communication is easy. Sellers and buyers can commu-
nicate personally, by telephone, through their agents or in some
other way.
Peter:
I see, and what is the right price in a perfect market?
Olga:
The right price
is the point where supply and demand
meet.
Peter:
You are right.
I think your report will be interesting
because you know what the market is and how it works.
Olga:
Thank you. You encouraged me.
