Summary
The point of view of gynecologists, cytologists, specialists in molecular research on the problem of detection of precancerous lesions
and cervical cancer is presented. Despite the improvement of tools for obtaining material, the introduction of Liquid Based Cytology, HPV
testing and other molecular methods, the incidence of cervical cancer in Russia is growing. Screening organization, sampling, sample
preparation, staining, interpretation of the cellular composition, the data of visual inspection and colposcopy, results of molecular studies
are of great importance in the prevention of cervical cancer. A multidisciplinary approach is important both in the detection (organized
and opportunistic screening) and in the diagnostics of cervical diseases.
