Botanical and morphological characteristics.

Alef.
Glumes are hirsute, straw-colored. Spikelets are awnless. The variety is short-growing,
plant height is 80–85 cm. Stalk is of medium thickness (6–8 mm), firm, highly tolerant
to lodging. Leaves are green, without anthocyanin pigmentation, short; leaf blade is
slightly curved. Panicle is 14–15 cm long, non-drooping, containing 150–200 spikelets.
Panicle sterility is very low — 6–10 %.
Grain and milled rice quality, cooking properties.
Grain is of medium size,
semi-oblong. 1000 grain weight is 28–29 g. Length to breadth ratio (
l/b
): 2.1. Grain
translucency: 94–95 %. Husk percentage: 16.8–17.4 %. Total milled rice: 69.2–70.0 %
with 79.8–82.6 % of head rice.
Tolerance to environmental stress factors.
The variety is characterized by even
stands with good tillering capacity. The variety has higher blast tolerance than other
varieties,therefore it can be cultivated without fungicide application.
Yield capacity.
Yield potential is 9–10 t/ha.
