B. Ayagan: Kerei Khan and Zhanibek Khan - founders of Kazakh

The article considers problems of the genesis of the Kazakh statehood, 

as well as conditions and basic background for the formation of the 

Kazakh Khanate. Espessial attention is given to the ethnic processes 

in the territory of medieval Kazakhstan and to the etymology of the 

term “Kazakh”.
