Aims and purposes of the research. The main purpose of the thesis study is based on analysis and syntheses of all available sources of reconstructing the history of an ancient Otrar. To achieve above purpose it was solved to sum up all achievements in new excavations and the above written sources, to generalize the whole complex material – archaeological, written, epigraphic, numismatic, ethnologic, folklore sources and etc. to consider the development of the town from the moment of its foundation till destruction and disappearance paying attention to climatic changes.
