Cultivation area. In 2010 the variety entered the State register of breeding
achievements eligible for use in the North Caucasus Region.
Breeding method. It was bred with the use of single plant selection from the
hybrid populationVNIIR 6966/Nautiko.
It belongs to the mid-ripening group. Growing season lasts 116–120 days.
Botanical and morphological characteristics. Botanical variety:
var. italica Alef.
Plant height is 90–95 cm. Leaves are mid-long, green. Panicle is short, slightly droop-
ing, containing 8–10 spikelets per 1 cm.
Grain and milled rice quality, cooking properties. 1000 grain weight is 28–29 g.
Grain translucency: 90–95 %; husk percentage: 17.0–18.0 %; husk-covered grain
ratio (
l/b ): 2.2–2.3; total milled rice: 70–71 %, head rice: 90–95 %. Protein content:
6.8–7.5 %; amylose content: 17.0–19.0 %.
Tolerance to environmental stress factors. The variety is mid-tolerant to blast, high
tolerant to lodging and shattering.
Yield capacity. Yield potential is 10–11 t/ha.
