The infrastructure of the drinking water supply system in
Karatau
The city of Karatau is supplied with water from Tamdy and Koktal
underground water intakes which exploitation and maintenance under
public water utility company “Igilik” (here and after –“Igilik”). «Igilik»
is a publicly-owned multi-service enterprise. The enterprise’s activities
due to its natural monopoly position and socio-economic signifi cance
are regulated by the Antimonopoly Committee.
Water intake “Tamdy” which is located 8 km far from the city
consists of 4 tube wells with 7 pumps with a yield of 216 l/sec. Water
is taken from Tamdy water intake by pump station of the II lift which
