medium-sized, 1000 grain weight is 28–29 grams. Grain translucency is high: 94–95 %.
Total milled rice: 70–71.5 %; head rice: about 90 %. Milled rice is white, featuring fine
quality and good cooking properties.
Tolerance to environmental stressfactors. Gamma is characterized by inten-
sive growth at the emergence stage (inherited character of Leader). So the sprouts
can easily pull through the water layer which restrains weeds. Gamma is tolerant to
blast (tolerance was inherited from Talisman). This allows growing the variety without
application of crop protection chemicals and obtaining environmentally clean and
low-cost product of high quality.
The varietyis tolerant tolodging, does not shatter even during overmature stand,
but is easily threshed out. So it can be harvested by both swath harvesting and
straight-combine method.
Yield capacity. The variety is high-productive. Yield capacity is 8–9 tons per
hectare featuring high stability. Potential yield capacity is 10–12 tons per hectare.
