Tolerance to environmental stress factors. Sonata is resistant to blastand
showsmedium tolerance to soil salinity and rice leaf nematode.
Yield capacity. Average yield capacity in competitive variety trialsduring 4 years
of study was estimated as 70.0–80.0 dt/ha, in the environmental trial of 2005 in 4 farm
units of Krasnodar region — 66.0 dt/ha.
Yield potential: 10 t/ha.
Individual characteristics. Variety Sonata is characterized by a rather slow ger-
mination and low growth rate at the initial stages of growing, so the optimum irrigation
schedule is short-term flooding.
