Task I. Read and translate the text:
My working day
My working day begins at 7 o’clock when my alarm clock rings and I get up. First I do my morning exercises and take my dog out for a walk, and it’s good exercise for me. When we return home, my dog has his morning meal and I wash, clean my teeth and dress. I go to the kitchen and make my breakfast myself. I usually have an egg, bread and butter, and a cup of tea or coffee for breakfast. At breakfast I always watch morning news on TV. Then I dress for school and leave home at 7.30. I go to school by bus and by metro. The bus stop is right in front of my house. It takes me about an hour to get to school. I’m always on time for classes, which begin at 8.30. I usually stay at school till 3 o’clock. We have classes five days a week, except Saturday and Sunday.
I never go home right after classes. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I play chess in the school chess club. Twice a week I train in the gym and on Wednesday we have an optional class in Russian Literature, which I never miss. On other days I either stay in the school library to get ready for my classes or go to my friend’s place. On the way home I call at the baker’s and buy some bread. Sometimes I go shopping after school if my mother asks me to buy some food.
When I come home, I have supper with my parents. During supper we speak about the latest news and share out impressions of the day or discuss some family problems.
After supper I help mother to wash up. Then I’m ready to do my next day’s homework. It may take me from two to four hours to prepare for the next day’s classes. I usually spend more time on History, Social Science and Literature because I have to read a lot of additional materials besides school textbooks. When I finished do my homework I watch TV till late at night. If there’s nothing special to see, I go to my room and read little before I go to sleep.
All my weekdays are nearly the same, there’s no time left for entertainment or meeting with my friends.
