ТӨЛ СӨЗ БЕН ТӨЛЕУ СӨЗ
Төл сөзді төлеу сөзге өзгерткенде шақтардың қиысу ережесін есте сақтау керек, яғни өткен шақтаөғы түрлері ғана болады.
► Егер төл сөз бүйрықты білдіріп, to say етістігімен келсе, төлеу сөзде to tell, to order етістігіне ауысады. Егер төл сөз өтінішті білдірсе, to say етістігі to ask етістігіне өзгереді.
► Шақпен қиысу ережесі қолданылмайтын жағдай Егер тӛлеу сӛз сӛзде жалпы факт, болған оқиға туралы хабар айтылса:
a) The teacher told us (that) there are four seasons in a year.
b) He said London is the capital of the Great Britain.
c) “The sun sets in the west” the teacher said. – The teacher said the sun sets in the west.
► Егер алғашқы етістік осы шақ немесе келер шақта тҧрса a) The singer says, “I enjoy cycling”. The singer says that she enjoys cycling.
Indirect speech focuses more on the content of what someone said rather than their exact words. In indirect speech, the structure of the reported clause depends on whether the speaker is reporting a statement, a question or a command.

question	‘Are you ready?’ the nurse asked Joel. ‘Who are you?’ she asked.	The nurse asked Joel if/whether he was ready. She asked me who I was.	if-clause/whether-clause wh-clause

Direct speech is a representation of the actual words someone said. A direct speech report usually has a reporting verb in the past simple. The most common reporting verb is said. The reporting clause may come first or second.
