INFLUENCE OF THE USE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES AND TOOLS
IN CHEMISTRY LESSONS ON THE QUALITY OF KNOWLEDGE ACQUISITION IN
THE DISCIPLINE

Abstract:
This article examines the impact of information and communication technologies on the academic
performance and quality of students ' knowledge acquisition in the subject of chemistry in secondary school. It is
assumed, that in chemistry there are several topics, that require computer technology to study, and the use of ICT
increases the learning ability of both students, and teachers. The article considers the use of ICTs in some areas of
chemistry. The article puts forward and proves the assumption that the traditional method of teaching chemistry at the
moment of technological and globalizing progress is already ineffective given the generation, brought up on the
widespread use of gadgets and other technologies. The modern generation needs other teaching methods, and therefore
the article proves the effectiveness of using ICT in chemistry lessons to acquire knowledge on the subject. The article
also deals with the problem of the need to improve the skills of some teachers for the introduction of ICT in chemistry
lessons.
