Егер сөйлем Present Indefinite-те немесе Present Continuous –та тұрса, онда Past Indefinite-ке немесе Past Continuous-қа өзгереді. Егер сөйлем Future Indefinite немесе Future Continuous –та тұрса, онда Future in the Past, Future Continuous in the Past-қа өзгереді. Мезгіл және мекен үстеулері былай өзгереді: tomorrow – the next day, next year – the following year.
