A University tutor and a student are discussing forms of
business at the examination.
Tutor:
How many forms of business do you know?
Student:
There are three forms of business: the sole
proprietorship, the partnership and the corporation.
Tutor:
What is the advantage of the sole proprietorship?
Student:
There is only one owner who can make any decision
without consulting anyone.
Tutor:
And what about the partnership?
Student
: There is more than one owner in this kind of business
and each partner declares his share of profit or loss. But when they
disagree with each other the business fails.
Tutor:
What can you tell me about corporations?
Student:
Well, a corporation can attract financial resources,
talented specialists and is operated by managers. This form of busi-
ness is established for the purpose of making profit.
Tutor:
Fine. You know the subject well.
