Introduction.
It is known that the activity of assimilation of information by
children occurs on the basis of their own
views and interests, which
is the main means of motivating learning activities. At the same time,
it is necessary to take into consideration the personal characteristics
of learners to correlate speech actions
with their real feelings,
thoughts and interests.
Reading is one of the most important types of student’s
communicative and cognitive activity. This activity is aimed at
extracting information from a written fixed text.
Reading performs
various functions. It serves for the practical mastery of a foreign
language as a means of learning the language and culture. Being the
source of information and educational
activities reading expands
self-education opportunities. It is reading that provides the greatest
impact on the educational and comprehensive
development of
schoolchildren. According to Hung and Ngan reading is a basic skill
that can upgrade students’ vocabulary, fluency,
improve speaking
and writing skills and finally can help students master the language
they are learning [1].
