Have students think of possible vocabulary for the new topic Day and Night.
Divide students into 2 groups(like 1
st
row and 2
nd
row), give one of the
following topics to each group: day, night,
Have Students in each group tell a word related to their topic.
Example: In the day group, hopefully students will tell words such as sun,
light, rises, east, set, west, morning, afternoon, etc.
Each student should read their word and another studens should try to spell the
word.
Ask students why o we have day and night? Tell them we will practice
learning the words related to the day and night cycle of the Earth.
Presentation of the new vocabulary:
Earth, Sun, Moon, light, dark, sunrise, sunset, day, night, noon, East, West
Teacher distributes worksheet 1 learners read words
Feedback:
Learners share their ideas. Teacher monitors their work and writes
down the words with incorrect pronunciation on the board. Teacher drills the
pronunciation of certain words.
