Students ' a chance to access advanced education, the opportunity to learn from the best professors from leading
universities in the world. Courses in foreign languages, of course, contribute to their informal learning. Formed
a portfolio of students (are stored the completed tasks, and reviews of them), in the future there is the possibility
of formation of further scientific and educational trajectories and employment.
In the formation of MOOC communities are different educational institutions of the world, including major
universities. The most widely represented in the spectrum of MOOC Coursera [2]. It has positioned itself as
an educational company offering free online courses for everyone. Coursera partners are more than 100 leading
universities and organizations in the world, which, thanks to special technology, had the opportunity to teach
millions of students.
Among the proposed study topics include: game theory, probabilistic models, cryptography, design and
analysis of algorithms, software as a service, information theory, computer security, problems of sociology
and e-learning. All courses are divided into 20 categories, including biology, economics, mathematics,
computer science, etc. Each object has its own duration, but the structure of the article all similar: a series of
lectures for 815 minutes, weekly tests, practical assignments and a final exam. You can always find additional
materials for in-depth study. There is a forum where you can chat with other listeners. Principles of layout of
course materials and their presentation depend, of course, from the teachers and opportunities of a particular
institution [3].
In the modern development of remote sensing technology the quality of the educational process at the
University depends on the particular role of the teacher and his ability to creatively use the methods, forms
and technologies, long-established pedagogical science. Willingness of the teacher to learn, to go beyond the
boundaries of their academic field and use interdisciplinary connections allows it to fit a rapidly changing
world.
However, one of the challenges of using MOOC in professional development of teachers is the issue of
certification. Before the audience the question is: why to take courses that do not give you anything, except
knowledge, courses that are not considered in traditional educational institutions, and most importantly - are
not considered employers. If overseas employers already know about the existence of such a way of learning,
the Russian is yet to come. A positive impact on the recognition of the passage of the MOOC has the
participation of leading universities of the country in their organizations, and the possibility of obtaining an
official document of completion of additional professional education of the state sample.
Thus, massive open online courses enable a wide range of people to study various subjects for free and
remotely, and represent a powerful global trend of modern education. They are focused on the active use of all
network services and mobile interaction, i.e. wide use of possibilities of modern information technologies. And
at the same time, they are a challenge to traditional education, motivating him to innovative development.
To intensively develop such courses, especially for the system of advanced training and professional
retraining of teachers at all levels. For success in a MOOC requires a high level of self-organization and a good
level of ICT competence. Need to teach the course participants work in it, as well as analysis of the
effectiveness of their training, analysis of the results of homework and tests etc.
Thus the use of massive open online courses, the University performs the functions of transmitting
information to any person, regardless of their location, age, state of health, greatly implements the function of
additional and continuous education.
In conclusion, we note that massive open online courses are not intended to replace traditional education,
the aim is to make knowledge more accessible. Everything else largely depends on the student, the teacher,
from us wanting to use massive open online courses through self-education. It depends on us ability to work
independently, to plan your time, from the desire to learn online, know the purpose of their study and the result
we want to achieve. All this will allow us to constantly self-actualize and meet the fast-changing world.
