1.T: Today we’ll travel to the mountains. You’ll learn some kinds of travelling. You’ll learn some new words and use them in your speech. You’ll read the texts and do some exercises according to this texts. At the previous lesson we spoke about holidays and travelling.
Brainstorming: write as many words as you can connected with holiday.
T: Now, lets talk about transport. Which transport can we use for travelling? Which transport is the most dangerous? Which transport is the most comfortable? Which transport is faster? Which transport is more expensive? Which transport is more interesting?
T: Children, we have an invitation from our friends from America. I suggest you some kinds of entertainment: trekking, ski - tours, mountain – biking, snowmobiling, horse trekking. You have to choose one.
1-st team: trekking
2-nd team: snowmobiling
3-rd team: horse trekking
2. Working with the new words:
Trekking – to go on a long and difficult journey on foot.
Ski – tours – is an activity where long distances are covered on skis
Ascend – to climb a mountain, stairs.
Descend – to go down a mountain, to go downstairs.
Summit – the top of a mountain.
Horse trekking - a long horse riding walk around a place for enjoyment or competition purposes.
Routes – the roads or paths that you use when you go from one place to another.
Reading the texts:
1-st team: Trekking, Ski – tours
2-nd team: Mountain – biking, Snowmobiling in the mountains
3-rd team: Horse trekking
4. To discuss the text in groups and retell the text
