The greatest and the most famous
 of English writer and playwright is William Shakespeare was born in April 23, 1564 in Stratford - on – Avon. His father was a dealer in corn, meat, wool. William’s mother was a daughter of a rich farmer in the village of Wilmcote. In his childhood William went to the Stratford Grammar School where, besides reading and writing, he was taught Latin. In 1582, William married Anne Hathaway, when he was 18. His wife was 8 years older than himself. They had a daughter Susanna and twins – son Hamlet and daughter Judith. It is known that in 1587 Shakespeare went to work in London, leaving Ann and the children at home. By 1592, he had been an important member of a well – known acting company. In 1599 the company of actors and Shakespeare set up a new theatre “The Globe” and held their performance there. It was built on the south bank of the Thames. Shakespeare wrote all 2 long poems “Venus and Adonis” and “Lucrece”, 154 sonnets, 37 plays and historical dramas are “Hamlet”, “Othello”, “King Lear”, “Romeo and Juliette”. In 1611 Shakespeare left London and returned to Stratford. He died in Stratford at the age of 52, on April 23, 1616 year. He was buried in a fine old church in Stratford.
