the  regulation  of  cryptocurrency  within  the  AIFC  zone  with  special 

jurisdiction. Cryptocurrency is assigned the status of a private crypto 

currency,  and  it  represents  a  certain  value  that  can  digitally  act  as  a 

unit of account, a means of exchange and accumulation. It can also be 

exchanged for the national currency. There is a separate platform for 

trading  cryptocurrencies.    However,  to  date,  the  achievement  of  any 

real results is still unknown.

The  conducted  research  has  shown  that  the  issues  related  to  the 

development of cryptocurrency operations are currently very relevant 

in the world. We may be on the verge of the biggest fi nancial revolution 

in the world economy. 

The  main  advantages  of  cryptocurrency  include  the  following 

qualities  -  the  impossibility  of  its  forgery  and  the  absence  of 

intermediaries  in  transactions,  which  is  a  fundamental  factor  in  the 

attractiveness of users of cryptocurrency transactions. 

The  negative  qualities  of  the  cryptocurrency  include  its  high 

volatility and insecurity. Despite the volatility, the total capitalization 

tends  to  increase.  The  main  reason  for  the  increase  in  the  level 

of  capitalization,  according  to  experts,  is  the  introduction  of  the 

ICO  institute-a  mechanism  for  attracting  investment  using  crypto 

exchanges.

Every  year,  new  types  of  cryptocurrencies  appear  in  the  world, 

and their number is growing every year. At the moment, the number 

of  cryptocurrencies  listed  on  various  crypto  exchanges  is  more 

than  5  thousand.  However,  the  most  popular  and  having  the  highest 

level  of  capitalization  is  the  bitcoin  cryptocurrency.  By  the  end  of 

2020,  the  volume  of  bitcoin  capitalization  in  the  total  volume  of 

cryptocurrencies  occupied  more  than  70%,  and  this  trend  has  been 

maintained  for  a  long  time,  which  indicates  the  stability  of  this 

cryptocurrency.

The  study  showed  that  an  important  factor  in  the  development 

of  cryptocurrency  is  the  existence  of  legislation  in  the  fi eld  of 

cryptocurrency  turnover  and  its  legal  status.  In  countries  where  the 

legal  status  of  cryptocurrencies  has  already  been  determined  by  law, 

the market is developing faster.
