2.3 Similar traditions of Kazakh and British peopleIt would seem that two distant countries have in common, in which different languages are spoken, in which different cultures and mentalities? It turned out that we are more like the British than we think. Do you want to know what? It would seem that two distant countries have in common, in which different languages are spoken, in which different cultures and mentalities? When I read the terms of the contest, I thought it was impossible to find similarities in our countries. But when I started thinking, it turned out that we are more like the British than we think. Remember how you drink your favorite tea, fruit or black with milk, and eat your favorite cookies. So the British also like to do this. Moreover, both we and they drink Indian tea and enjoy it. Tea for Kazakhs and for the British is not just a drink that helps not to eat biscuits in dry water, but a drink for conversation and a warm pastime. Yes, and we also like to dip biscuits in tea, just like them. Isn't the UK reputed to be the most prim country in the world? Probably, this is because many in the world are not familiar with our traditions yet. Respect for family traditions, respect for elders and family gatherings on holidays - this unites us! Kazakhs can safely go to the UK, they will not surprise anyone there with their charter. Who from Kazakhstan has not been to our "Apple fest", which is celebrated on a grand scale every year? So the British also have an apple holiday, which they also celebrate in the fall, on October 21. They also like to crunch apples, also breed new varieties, and also like to bake apple pies, just like us. Who else in the world, besides us, could boast of a huge number of national meat dishes? It turned out that the British also like meat. Romsteaks, steaks, lamb with Lancashire potatoes, Welsh lamb with sauce, shepherd's pie with meat, beef stew and many, many more dishes! Maybe they should try our kazy? Great Britain, like Kazakhstan, has been breeding new breeds of sheep for a very long time. We occupy a very prominent place among sheep–breeding countries in Asia, Britain - in Europe. We even have a similar custom. Kazakhs planted and raised a new khan on a white cat, and the Lord Chancellor from the House of Lords has been sitting on a bag of wool since ancient times and still. The British love horses. As far as I know, there have always been good riders and steeds on our land, so the British are no worse. Probably, Kazakhstanis and Britons are equally interested in breeding thoroughbred horses. Not only horses and sheep unite our countries, cows did not stay away either. The Heriford breed of cows is a close relative of our Kazakh white–headed cow. Who would have thought, even our cows are related! The British can read the words of Abai's edification in English, and we can read Shakespeare's sonnets in Kazakh. We and the British alike love Sherlock Holmes, Mr. Darcy, Harry Potter, Bilbo Baggins, our children also dream of visiting Non-Land and seeing Peter Pan, read about the adventures of Oliver Twist and Gulliver. We are much closer to each other than we think. Each of us has a piece of English culture on the bookshelf. As in Kazakhstan, many peoples and even races live peacefully in the UK. But none of the Kazakhstanis and Britons are capable of oppressing someone just for the color of their skin or belonging to a certain nation. This is our unity – we are for world peace. And why do you think the UK is also multinational? Yes, because they have been all over the world since ancient times. The passion for travel is in their blood, in this they are similar to us. Wherever the British have been, and in the New World, and in India, and in Asia, and in Latin America, and in Australia. Yes, they are the same nomads as we are! Have you ever seen an English gentleman with unpolished shoes? And you won't, because British men always look flawless. Our men, as well as British ones, like to dress beautifully and neatly. And how similar many Kazakh girls are to real ladies in their upbringing and style! Kazakhstanis love English. We have a huge number of courses and programs that help you master the Kipling language.
