A special role in the design is played by the graphical model of the mecha-
tronic module. Using it, you can trace the mutual influence of different com-
ponents on each other and assess the quality of the future module in the
preliminary stage of its creation. Therefore, the main purpose of using the
graphic model is to determine the level of compliance of the characteristics of
the module being designed with the requirements laid down in the terms of
reference, without the direct manufacture of prototypes.
If the module meets the restrictions imposed on it on accuracy, speed, mass-
size characteristics, etc., then there is a stage of issuing the design documentation
and its coordination with all the internal services of the manufacturer that
are directly related to the production of the mechatronic module. Otherwise,
the designer must make the necessary changes to the structural model of the
mechatronic module or use other components for its implementation.
The complexity and inconsistency of the requirements for mechatronic
modules makes the mechatronic approach to their design expedient.It leads to
ensuring the desired level of the module’s quality due to the constructive and
functional interpenetration of its components, many of which are specialized
and are created in parallel system design, taking into account their subsequent
effective integration, and also due to the fulfillment by some components of
several functions simultaneously, which makes it possible to exclude a number
of interfaces, simplify and reduce the cost of construction.
Designing the mechatronic modules are carried out with using the integra-
tion criteria described above. Since their number is sufficiently large, it is
desirable to take into account as many criteria as possible in the synthesis of
mechatronic modules, i.e. carry out multi-criteria design.
