«До сих пор я описывала события….» The verb "описывать" in the Russian language is more associated with an oral story than with written speech. Thus, the translation does not reflect the meaning of the fact that the main character does not just describe the events of her life, but records them. The translation performed By I. Gurova further distorts the meaning of the statement:
«Досихпоря <…> рассказывалаособытиях…», the translator replaces the verb "to record" (записывать) with the verb "to tell". In this version of the translation, the author's idea of the heroine's written fixation of the events of her life is fully leveled, so the translator creates the illusion of an oral story of the heroine. Despite this, the nouns "chapter" (глава) and "line" (строка) are preserved in both translations: V. Stanevich: "... almost as many chapters...<...> a few lines will be enough»
