4.5.2 Analysis of the interrelationships of the mechatronic
module with the external environment
Under the external environment, we understand
the whole material envi-
ronment, which, being outside the mechatronic module, has any effects on it or
tests them on the part of the mechatronic module.
Input influences are those effects on the mechatronic module, which are
necessary for its functioning, i.e. for the formation of such output effects (para-
meters) for the sake of which a mechatronic module is created. All other rela-
tionships between the mechatronic module and the external environment are, in
most cases, unnecessary and undesirable.
It is not always obvious what effects to take as input, which over the
wee-
kend,
not always inputs and outputs can be considered unidirectional, they are
not always easily separated from other influences, without introducing certain
conventions.
The breadth of coverage of the interaction pattern of the mechatronic
module with the external environment depends on
the information available
and the time spent on work. Therefore, some of the relationships essential to the
designer may sometimes remain undetected or insufficiently disclosed due to
the limited ability to obtain information and time.
What can be affected by the lack of full disclosure of relationships? First
of all, the reliability of the future mechatronic module. Not to lose sight of
any significant impact – the main thing in considering the interrelations of the
environment with the mechatronic module, if the latter requires high reliability.
The analysis of relationships should be conducted in a directional and selective
way. The designer should be able to discard unnecessary details, unnecessary
connections and concentrate his attention on the essential.
