- 4.7 Development of variants of sketch assemblies of a mechatronic module

The pre-design stage under consideration marks the beginning of a conti- nuous, uninterrupted work to ensure the reliability of the mechatronic module until the end of the design. Having chosen reliability as the most important criterion of the rationality of the design being created, we must evaluate each of the stages by this criterion. The transition from the concept to the first constructive sketches of the main parts means the transition from idealized elements to real details. The greatest difficulties of such a transition are associated with an inade- quate analysis of the changes in the kinematics and dynamics that arise in the constructive implementation of a scheme constructed from idealized elements. Unrecognized, incorrectly calculated or simply not taken into account inertia forces, friction, elasticity in individual links of the kinematic chain, and kinematic uncertainty constitute a characteristic class of causes that cause insu- fficient reliability of the future mechatronic module. When studying the families of sub-variants, they reveal their qualities, somehow estimated from the point of view of reliability and, conversely, the approach to analyzing families from the perspective of reliability helps to find new and better sub-variants of the construction of parts of the mechatronic module. 4.7 Development of variants of sketch assemblies of a mechatronic module The outline layout of the mechatronic module is the least likely to be analyzed logically. Born in the head of the combination designer bear the stamp of his knowledge, observations, everyday and professional experience. 220 Therefore, before anything else, there are options associated with more familiar, more frequent constructive solutions. Sketching . The search for layout variants of both the main parts and the mechatronic module as a whole is accompanied by a sketch. The sketch consists of a small number of lines depicting a constructive scheme devoid of details and only sometimes those parts that explain and develop the basic constructive idea. The imperfection of sketching is redeemed by the speed of drawing. Selected options need to be checked through a large-scale drawing, which should also not be detailed.
