 1.3 Classification of mechatronic modules
The goal of any classification is the systematization of information about a 
certain object in the form of an ordered structure to facilitate the orientation of 
man in the environment. 
The classification is characterized by the object, the classification features 
and their sequence.
According to the classification, images of the object are created. Therefore, 
for the same object, the images of which have various characteristics, depen-
ding on the selected characteristics and their sequence, it is possible to con-
struct different versions of the hierarchical tree, that is, several different 
classifications. In this case, a particular user prefers the classification, which 
allows you to quickly and easily solve his pressing problems.
In Fig. 1.3 represents the classification of mechatronic modules by 
integration and constructive features, where the letters denote: E – engine, 
MC – mechanical converter, HTE – high-torque engine, ID – information 
devices, IHTE – integrated high torque engine, DAC – digital-to-analog 
converter, PC – power converter, FBD-feedback device, SIIMM – 
superintegrated intelligent mechatronic module [1].

To the full extent, the fundamental definition of mechatronics corresponds 
only to intelligent mechatronic modules that contain all three determining 
subsystems. The inclusion in the classification of motion modules and mecha-
tronic motion modules is methodically and logically justified.
Indeed, these classes of mechatronic objects, built on mechatronic design 
principles, are the basis for creation of intelligent mechatronic modules.
Later mechatronic modules and systems will be integrated into mechatronic 
complexes on the basis of integrated integration platforms. The purpose of 
creating such complexes is to achieve a combination of high productivity and at 
the same time flexibility of the technical and technological environment due to 
the possibility of its reconfiguration.
Let us consider the mechatronic modules according to the presented 
classification.
