Relevance of research. The modern stage of social development constantly imposes new requirements for the improvement of the educational process at school. Therefore, as part of the modernization of education in Kazakhstan, school should become an important factor in the formation of new life positions and personal characteristics. In this regard, priorities for educational purposes are also changing: today it is not enough to give students the amount of knowledge, today it is necessary to train students, develop their cognitive and educational motivation.
The formation of educational motivation is one of the main problems of teachers of the republic. Basic requirements for the results of students who have mastered the basic educational program in accordance with the State Educational Standard of the Republic of Kazakhstan, readiness and ability for self-development, formation of motivation for learning and cognition. Researchers of the problem of motivation provide data that it decreases from class to class. As a result, motivation decreases, contractility disappears, the will to master school subjects weakens, overall academic performance decreases, which, in turn, negatively affects motivation. In this regard, a very important issue is to increase the motivation and cognitive interest of students.
The results of recent psychological and pedagogical studies have shown that the younger school age has great reserves for the formation of the motivational sphere of learning. Also at a younger age, one of the main personal results is observed – the formation of motivation to acquire knowledge, as well as orientation to the formation of other personal characteristics of the student: activity, curiosity, interest in learning the world.
The most sensitive and favorable period for the development of educational motivation is the age of primary school, since it is at this time that educational activity becomes leading, the motivational sphere changes, new motives appear. If educational motivation is not improved at primary school age, then this can affect the quality of a child's education, his behavior, attitude to school and, in general, education and self-education, which indicates the relevance of the development of motivation of an elementary school student to study.
