Psychological-pedagogical problems of development of communicative competence in children with hearing
impairments
The development of communicative competence is an important and necessary stage of the child's
socialization in the overall process of assimilating the experience of social life and social relations. Characterizing
the state of the study of the problem of developing the communicative competence of junior schoolchildren with
hearing impairments, it should be noted that, despite the existing notions of the importance of full-fledged speech
communication for social adaptation and integration into the society of hearing-impaired people, many aspects of
this problem remain insufficiently developed. The content of the concept of communicative competence of persons
with hearing impairment is not disclosed, criteria and indicators of its formation are not defined, which makes it
difficult for teachers to work in this direction in the system of special education and in conditions of integrated
education in the general education school.
Successful formation of communicative competence is impossible in conditions of speech, social and
communicative deprivation. An important tool that influences the effective formation of the communicative
competence of hard of hearing students is their joint training with normally hearing peers. However, communicative
competence, even in conditions of integrated learning, is not formed spontaneously in hard-of-hearing children. The
development and implementation of a set of correctional and pedagogical methods and conditions for the formation
of communicative competence of junior schoolchildren with hearing impairments in the teaching and educational
process is one of the aspects of solving the indicated problem.
