The main issues submitted for the defence of the thesis are the follows: - the reconstructed integral picture of the formation and development of historical education in Kazakhstan from 1920 to 2001, governed by socio-political and economic conditions from the position of concrete historical approach;
- conceptual ideas of enlighteners and the core of the Kazak intelligentsia on development of historical education in Kazakhstan;
- the basic directions of the state policy on reforming historical education in Kazakhstan during the explored period;
- ideological and political bias of historical education;
- ignoring national features of the Kazak people during the totalitarian regime, that fatally affected development of historical education in Kazakhstan;
- the characterization of the basic stages of development of historical education in Kazakhstan during the considered period;
- substantiation of the necessity of studying positive previous experience and considering negative developments in working out new strategy of evolution of historical education in the conditions of education modernisation;
- trends of historical education development in Kazakhstan society.
The structure of the thesis.The thesis consists of the introduction, five chapters, the conclusion and the list of the used sources.
