Purpose of discipline: familiarity with the basic physiological and biochemical characteristics of microorganisms. The study of the development of microorganisms and patterns of vital activity. Changes in the soil, nature caused by microorganisms. In water, air, human body, animals and plants
Course description: Introduction. General areas of the discipline, the history of development and relations with other sciences, the fields of microbiology, the structure of microorganisms and the systematics of microorganisms. Anger of prokaryotes. Their types of nutrition. Energy activity, nitrogen fixation, phytotrophic bacteria. Biopolymer synthesis. Regulation of enzymes. Plasmites, genetic engineering. viruses. Pathogenic and virulent bacteria.

Expected learning outcomes of the subject (LOS):
LOS 1 - the significance and role of microorganisms in infectious and non-infectious pathologies, the role of the immune system in the fight against microorganisms;
LOS 2 - understanding the content of prevention and treatment of infectious diseases;
LOS 3 - skills of prevention and study of immunobiological drugs in the treatment and diagnosis of infectious diseases.
