THE ROLE OF LIFE VALUES IN THE PROCESS OF PROFESSIONAL SELF-DETERMINATION
OF THE STUDENT’S PERSONALITY
Abstract
The article deals with the problem of professional self-determination of schoolchildren, which acts as one of the most
significant components of the professional development of a person and as a criterion for the success of this process. It is a
question of the need to search for new approaches to the pedagogical leadership of the professional self-determination of
students in schools in our republic and the development of appropriate technologies. The essence of the professional self-
determination of the individual as a component of the integral life self-determination is revealed, and it expresses the attitude
of the individual to the professional and working environment and the way of its self-realization.
The interrelation of the concepts "professional self-determination" and "life self-determination", actualization of personal
and vital values of the individual is considered. The theoretical analysis of the concept of "life self-determination" is given.
The structure of life self-determination, which has a social-personal and individual-personal aspects is chosen. Characteristics
are given to each of these aspects.
It is pointed out that among the main distinctive features of professional self-determination, researchers allocate a
significant formalization (reflection of professionalism in diplomas, certificates, etc.).
The role of personal qualities and life values when choosing the direction of future professional activity and its place in the
system of social relations is revealed.
