Abstract:
Information and computer society todaytechnologies have a great impact on the
human psyche. Adolescence is a period of formation of self-concept and development of self-
consciousness. Adolescents have a natural need for peer relationships, often through cyber-
communication. Lack of social approval in the cyberspace, cyberbullying, excessive immersion in
the virtual environment can lead to low self-esteem, self-esteem and many psychological problems
in general.
Interference with Internet communication increases the level of problematic anxiety,
especially in areas of life such as family, school relationships, thinking about the future, a large
number of symptoms of an accented nature appear, in particular, cyclothymia increases. In
addition, different social networks create their own "problem field", that is, they have different
effects on the psyche of a teenager. This is explained by the predominant emphasis of social
networks, the specific content of each of them and the most popular functions. In addition, the
widespread distribution and introduction of virtual environments into people's daily lives can have
both positive and negative consequences. Cyber communication creates opportunities for self-
realization, to compensate for certain weaknesses of the personality manifested in traditional

deal with life problems. Based on the obtained data, it is possible to determine promising directions
of providing psychological assistance to teenagers who use social networks problematically.
