I had not done my homework by three o'clock - Я не сделал домашнюю работу к трем часам. She had not read the book by Friday - Она не прочитала книгу к пятнице. На письме и в разговорной речи употребляется следующее сокращение: had not = hadn't. Had John done his homework by three o'clock? - Джон сделал домашнюю работу к трем часам? Had she read the book by Friday? - Она прочитала книгу к пятнице? Теперь изучите, в каких случаях употребляется The Past Perfect Tense.Данное время используется при обозначении какого-либо прошедшего действия, которое уже закончилось до определенного момента в прошлом. При переводе на русский язык The Past Perfect Tense переводится прошедшим временем совершенного или несовершенного вида, в зависимости от контекста. Таким образом, данное время можно назвать "предпрошедшим", так как оно обозначает процесс по отношению к моменту, который также имел место в прошлом.

It was named after Sir Benjamin Hall. The clock was made under his direction. Westminster Abbey is a Royal Church. Here you can see many tombs of British Kings and Queens and other famous people, such as: Charles Dickens, Walter Scott, and Thomas Hardy. Tower of London was a fortress, a royal palace, later a prison. Now it is a museum. Many tourists come to visit London and see all these places.
