4.5 MY FLAT Read and learn the following words: brick кирпичный
I. Read and translate the text My flat We live in a flat in an old brick house in the center of Moscow. It’s a two room flat but the rooms are big and the ceilings are high.
There are also a kitchen, a bathroom and a closet in our flat. The sitting room is light because there are two big windows in it. It is full of different furniture. There's a big round table in the middle of the room with six chairs around it. There is a wardrobe and a big sofa against the wall. In the corner there are two armchairs, a small table and a standart lamp near it. There are a few pictures on the walls.
The other room is smaller. It is my parents’ room. There are two beds, a mirror in the left hand corner and a small dressing table to the right of the window. There are beautiful yellow window curtains and a light brown carpet on the floor. The room is very cosy.
I sleep on the sofa in the sitting room where I can watch TV if there’s an interesting programme at night.
Our kitchen is big and we use it as a dining-room. I sometimes do my homework there too. There’s also a small TV set on the refrigerator and mother watches it while cooking or washing up. The bathroom is also spacious and we keep our washing machine there.
