First of all, it should be noted that in this paragraph, the author refutes the possible assumption that this is a simple autobiography: "this is not be a regular autobiography", also clarifies that the story will consist only of facts that may be of interest: "will possess some degree of interest", so, we can assume that we have an autobiographical novel, the plot of which is somehow thought out by the author, i.e. Jane Eyre.
Secondly, the presence of such nouns as "chapter" (глава), "line" (строка) and the verb "to record" (записывать) in the text is proof that we may have a novel before us. However, not all translators retain such references to the genre of the text. For example,V.Stanevich replaces the verb "to record" (to record / fix any facts in writing) with the verb " to describe" in his translation:
