Purpose
In a formal style the Infinitive in this function can be introduced by

(для того чтобы; чтобы). The Infinitive expressing
purpose can be placed either at the beginning or at the end of the
sentence. The Infinitive is translated by the Russian Infinitive or verbal
noun with the preposition «для».
To overcome
the crisis a new economic policy was proposed.
Для того чтобы преодолеть кризис (Для преодоления кри-
зиса…), была предложена новая экономическая политика.
