Abstract.
The article is devoted to the problem of the influence of bi-
otechnologies on a human being and on his/her
social and humanitarian
practices. Philosophical concepts of human future based on the inclusion of
ideas of human biotechnological enhancement (J. Harris) and criticism of
the philosophical argumentation of human enhancement (S. Fuller) reveals
the general framework of the discussion about the socio-humanitarian per-
spectives of the development of biotechnologies.
The problem of moral dis-
courses arising from the development of biotechnology not only establish-
es the boundaries in which biotechnological risk management modes are
formed but also transcends traditional risk
management with the help of
moral reasoning in the area where new types of risk perception are formed
and even new types of biotechnological morality are proposed. The publi-
cation addresses the problem of biotechnological
complication of a human
being. Biotechnologies simplify the achievement of new results and widen
the horizon of what can be achieved with a relatively simple technological
effort: doping brings the results of sports competitions to a new level, moral
enhancement will significantly reduce the level
of socially dangerous or un-
favorable behavior. Meanwhile, the lightness and significance of the results
achieved with the help of biotechnologies, if it
does not turn a human being
into a machine, makes think about the possibility of such a prospect.
