Biotransformation is a process to improve structural changes and produce new chemical
compounds, which naturally occur in microbial and mammalian organisms, like filamentous fungi
to produce improved quality of bioactive compounds with safety and effectiveness.
Kazakhstan medicinal plants are most commonly used in the field of medication for
immunosuppressants, progestational
and anti-inflammatory agents, diuretics, contraceptives and
anabolics etc. Some are
used to address heart disease, HIV, ADIS, breast and prostate cancer as
well as adrenal insufficiency and other conditions.
In this regard, present work will study the possibility of obtaining out the new classes of
bioactive compounds from the Kazakhstan medicinal plants then their biotransformation through
fungi, as hormones and drugs in the pharmaceutical industry.
Oxidations, reduction and hydroxylations reactions mostly carried out in the
functionalizations of bioactive compounds. During the preparation
reaction the complex
stereochemistry of these constituents needs attention to stereoselectivity. These reactions can be
achieved as an alternative to the chemical synthesis, through biocatalytic techniques.
The separation of bioactive molecules will be carried out through chromatographic techniques
such as TLC and HPLC, as well as non-chromatographic techniques like microwave-assisted
extraction (MAE), ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE), instant controlled pressure drop (DIC) and
supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) etc.
After purification the bio transfer complex compounds
will be examine using mass
spectroscopy (MS),
1
H-NMR,
13
C-NMR and IR etc.
To conclude, several drugs prepared by total chemical synthesis were racemates. However,
only one enantiomer of them frequently has positive effect. Hence, it’s necessary to prepare a single
enantiomer. Therefore, to achieve this need the use of biotransformations in chiral synthesis has
been greatly effective.
