Explain that we use both to refer to two people or things with a positive meaning. We use either to refer to one of two people with a positive meaning and neither to refer to not one or the other of two people with a negative meaning. Explain that we use whole to mean “complete” with countable nouns, and each to mean “one by one” with singular countable nouns. We use none to mean “not any; and refer to more than two people with a negative meaning. It is the opposite of all which means “every one’.
