Abstract.
The paper discusses specific influences of the era of consum-
erism (J. Baudrillard) on the formation of motivational attitudes in biotech-
nological human enhancement. It emphasizes the role of market as a space
of semantic exchange between the discourses of production and discourse
of consumption. Habitual structures of market exchange are discussed as
life-world prerequisites that are necessary for the formation of the scientif-
ic worldview. Complementarity of the practices and discourses of knowl-
edge and society co-production and co-consumption is underlined. Several
meanings of Human Bioenhancement Technologies (HB) were discussed:

strengthening (objective meaning), betterment (subjective meaning), per-
